Description: Voice Therapy developed by Robert W. Firestone PhD, is an affective behavioral cognitive therapy. It provides therapists with an integrated approach to help their clients understand and challenge negative thought processes, overcome addiction and depression, and enhance their personal relationships. Voice therapy helps clients develop a coherent narrative about their lives in order to facilitate repair, change & growth. This technique has been found to be highly effective and a valuable adjunct to any clinical practice. Voice Therapy provides us with a banquet of insights into the nature of our inner lives and emotional relationships. As a psychiatrist and educator, my professional training focuses on the mind, the brain, and human relationships. Parallel in our views is the perspective that deeper self-understanding and authentic interpersonal relatedness go hand in hand, reinforcing each other as they deepen and become unburdened by restrictive adaptations from the past."
