Dr. Lamia is a psychoanalyst trained at the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute in both traditional and control-mastery approaches to treatment. She works with adults, adolescents, and children in her Marin County private practice. Extending psychological knowledge to the public has been Dr. Lamia's endeavor for many years. She hosts a weekly call-in talk show, "KidTalk with Dr. Mary" on Radio Disney stations, chairs the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute Public Information Committee, and is a member of the American Psychological Association media panel. Dr. Lamia is on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Children's Book Division of the American Psychological Association.
