Dr. Schiemann's specialty is cognitive-behavioral therapy using an integrative approach that combines schema-based cognitive theory with interpersonal/ constructivist methods. In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Schiemann has a private practice in Oakland where he works with adults presenting with a wide variety of concerns. Dr. Schiemann trained as an actor with Jean Shelton and has appeared in numerous Bay Area theatre and film productions. He is currently interested in bringing the language of film to his work in the field of psychology.
